Anton Ek, from Nordic Biomarker

Anton graduated from the biotechnology engineering program in spring 2020. He started his first job in the industry in February 2021, almost exactly 1 year ago, at the Umeå based company Nordic Biomarker. The company makes reagents for coagulation analyzers. His main work is currently dedicated towards projects involving product quality, investigations and problem solving. He will tell you what a day in the life of a newly graduated engineer in the biotech business can look like, and share some of his personal experiences from before, during and after his time at the university.

Tobias Jonsson, from Diduco

Tobias studied chemistry, microbiology and mathematics, and then gained a PhD in analytical chemistry from Umeå University in 2003. Since then he has worked in private companies, from small startups to multinational corporations, all while living with his family in Umeå. Today he is CEO at Diduco AB, while training Swedish companies in chemical analysis and supervising student projects in his laboratories. Tobias will share glimpses from his career and talk about what experiences and skills are desired in the industries he has been working in.
